Project Details: I
Design and construction of multi-sport education space

The multipurpose synthetic playspace at Templeton Primary School, in Melbourne’s east, needed a refresh, and so Tuff Group were engaged to revitalise the area to serve the school’s active community for years to
come.

The design includes a junior-sized AFL pitch, a junior-sized soccer pitch, a four-lane running track, and a cricket pitch. The design also utilises the site’s existing undulations with the school’s name emblazoned on the embankment, a feature which was hand-installed by our own synthetic surfacing specialist, Matthew Wood. The upper section of the oval also includes the school’s logo in synthetic turf, which was also hand-installed by our specialist surfacing team using a custom laser-cut stencil.

Needing only minor rectification works to the existing base, this project primarily focused on re-prioritising the space within the existing parameters to provide a more functional space for the school community. Using the existing base material to undertake minor rectifications on-site means this project’s environmental footprint was minimised.

This project uses our signature education surfacing systems, Vmax40 on the junior AFL and soccer pitches, and Fast Pro18 on the running track surface. These surfacing solutions work together to form the perfect combination for projects in school settings that need to keep up with active
kids.

Templeton Primary School’s multipurpose oval also receives regular visits from our dedicated maintenance team, Tuff Maintenance, to guarantee the spaces continues to perform for the school community
