Collaborating with Melbourne-based construction company Mainbrace Constructions, Tuff Group delivered a certified synthetic FIFA Quality pitch to the highest standard. This project formed part of the North-East Link Project for the Bulleen Lions Football Club and is now used as a training pitch for the Melbourne Victory Women’s team.

The field is surfaced with Tuff Group’s signature FIFA surfacing solution, Vmax50 with TPE infill, to ensure that the field’s surface temperature is managed during the hot summer months. Combined with a durable elastic layer beneath the synthetic turf, this system is designed in Melbourne specifically to perform in Australian conditions.

The new facility at Veneto Club includes new LED floodlighting, behind-goal and boundary fencing, portable players’ shelters to accommodate a maintenance track, and surrounding paths to accommodate spectators and players; providing a safe, high-performance facility to cater for the community and club, and usher in a new generation of budding athletes. The new
synthetic field provides triple the volume of usage over that of the previous natural field.

The pitch at Veneto Club is the perfect example of Tuff Group’s ability to build elite sporting facilities whilst navigating and
managing unique site challenges, such as non-homogenous and reactive subgrade material, and a constrained project footprint.

To ensure a suitable subgrade was achieved, the Project Manager, Travis Knight, worked with the project geotechnical engineers and stabilisation specialists to engineer a stable subgrade that will give the
field many years of life, whilst increasing the environmental credentials of
the project. By stabilising and reusing the existing subgrade material on-site,
Tuff Group ensured the project was delivered with the environment in mind. It
is this kind of dynamic, solution-oriented thinking that makes our projects a
