Park 22 Netball Hub forms part of a major transformation to sport In Adelaide. Originally identified by both the South Australian Government and the City of Adelaide as a significant contributor to the future of the Parklands, Park 22 Netball facility was an aged facility in a state of disrepair, with uneven, cracked, disjointed playing courts, poor inefficient lighting and substandard player and participant
facilities.

In a consortium between The South Australian Government and the City of Adelaide, a contract was awarded to design and construct 26 new Netball Australia Certified courts that would offer the identified 200 plus Netball clubs - and the 190,00 people who utilized the courts both at both school sport an ammeter level - a new Netball Sporting Hub.

The facility designed and constructed offers 26 all-weather outdoor courts each with individually bespoke locally made and designed LED Lighting. The lighting system uses CREE Led globes which are controlled via a DALI C-Bus and allows a multitude of control options for a single or any number of courts, and has the ability to track and monitor power consumption & usage statistics.

Working with their geotechnical consultants, Tuff Group were able to solve the issue of poor highly reactive ground and in doing so, provide significant cost savings to their client.

A balanced cut to fill earthworks stage was completed over the entire site, then the sub base undertook a lime and cement stabilisation process that incorporated the ground-up old asphalt surface.

The new sub-base solved the issues of poor highly reactive silty clay foundation and at the same
time provided significant savings by not having to excavate, remove and replace the unsuitable sub-base material.

20,000 tonnes of base rock was placed, graded, rolled, compacted and edged with concrete as the basis for the asphalt surface which was then dressed for success with an acrylic playing surface.

Overall this project was and still remains a standout for Tuff Group - certainly at night!
