The multisport pitch at Jamison Park in Penrith, NSW, is one of the best examples of Tuff Group’s ability to provide entire in-house solutions, from design, to construction, installation, and maintenance.

The design of Jamison Park includes two full-size FIFA pitches, a full-size AFL pitch, and a synthetic cricket pitch in the centre of the field. The project design was completed entirely in-house, and was undertaken with performance, environmental sustainability, and function as the primary focus. The facility at Jamison Park is FIFA Quality and AFL/CA certified.

The project includes new LED lighting to maximise night-time play, dedicated paths and viewing areas to facilitate spectator engagement, players’ shelters to service both FIFA pitches, drinking fountains, and goal backdrop fencing to ensure safety.

Being in close proximity to several waterways, stormwater
management played a significant role in the design of this field. To
effectively manage the field’s stormwater conditions, this project utilises a vertically-draining base composed of aggregates of differing sizes to manage
the flow of stormwater into the existing infrastructure. This design also
incorporated and achieved high levels of water sensitive urban design (WSUD)
principles.

The field is surfaced with Vmax50, our latest configuration of certified FIFA Quality/Quality Pro and AFL/CA surfaces. This system boasts a dual yarn type, which provides the perfect balance between performance and durability and has been installed in a multitude of different fields both nationally and internationally. Using the Vmax50 system on an AFL pitch has
improved environmental credentials in that a 50mm system uses a lesser volume of infill than the 60mm systems typically used for an AFL pitch, with no compromise on the safety or performance of the field.
